Enhanced adsorption of chlorogenic acid polyphenol by layered double hydroxide modified with sodium dodecyl sulfate

Abstract Polyphenols are a class of organic contaminants highly present in wastewater from industrial and agro-industrial processes. Adsorptive processes employed to remove effluents without the generation by-products. Among challenges removal is search for adsorbents that have affinity favor interaction with contaminant. In this sense, paper aimed evaluate layered double hydroxide modified sodium dodecyl sulfate as an adsorbent material chlorogenic acid polyphenol. Carbonated magnesium-aluminum hydrotalcite was modification at different contents. The results showed 50% w -1 increased adsorptive capacity 0.030 mg g 2.3 after 24 hours contact Thus, use surface indicated positive application polyphenols.
